Welcome
- 50,000 Motorcyclists Are Injured Every Year In Traffic Collisions
- 80% of All Motorcycle Accidents Result in Injuries or Death to the Motorcyclis
Attorney Joseph L. Eggleston has been representing motorcyclists since 1983, long before their representation became popular and back when bikers were treated with disrespect by society in general & other attorneys in particular. Joe passed the state bar exam on his first attempt, hung out a shingle and went into private practice. After he & Richard M. Lester became partners and devoted their practice almost exclusively to Aiding Injured Motorcyclists, they agreed that their firm would be unique in that all of the attorneys would be required to attend and set-up as a vendor at certain motorcycle events, runs, etc.
This required a special vehicle which could carry a table, chairs, boxes, etc. so Joe designed a special construction vehicle ( 3 wheel trike ) in 1984 with an extended 48" front end which had a wood stake pick-up rear for storage. Joe had the trike built by custom trike builder Richard Phy from the ground up (no kits) in 1985. Joe's original "Little Woody Pick-up Trike" has been all over the USA (especially the southwest) including Sturgies & Daytona and now has over 130,000 miles on it. "Little Woody" is still regularly used by Joe when he attends and sets up at motorcycle events. Joe has offices in San Diego, California and Phoenix, Arizona and has dedicated his professional life to protecting injured riders in those states as well as Nationwide through is affiliation with AIM (Aid to Injured Motorcyclists) and NCOM (National Coalition of Motorcyclists).
Before Joe started practicing law, bikers were often ignored by attorneys and were rarely afforded the same attention as “citizens” - most people assumed that if a biker was injured on his motorcycle - it was his fault. The fact is that over 80% of all multi-vehicle accidents involving motorcyclists are not the motorcyclist’s fault. Injuries caused by motorcycle accidents are, more often than not, the result of an inattentive vehicle driver who “doesn’t see” the motorcycle and either turns directly in front of the bike, follows to closely and runs into the back of bike, doesn’t know that California motorcycle laws allow motorcycles to share lanes and slides into the bike, or the worst case scenario, purposely hits a motorcyclist just because he didn’t like them.
Unfortunately the injuries suffered by motorcyclists are often catastrophic resulting in brain injury, paralysis, or even death. It is, therefore, crucial that motorcyclists seek the advice of an experienced and compassionate attorney like Joe Eggleston who will vigorously fight the government, the courts, and the insurance companies to make sure that his clients receive the maximum monetary recovery for their damages against the negligent party.
